TEN REASONS

WE'RE WORTH

THE DRIVE

OUR PROMISE TO EVERY CUSTOMER, EVERY TIME.

Scroll Down

1.

No Surprises

Handle and hand-pick each plant you purchase. Check out the root system, finger the texture of the foliage, even smell the scents. Tour display gardens and prairie plantings to visualize how mature native plants will look in your landscaping.

2.

No Substitutions

Visiting our nursery eliminates the risk of plant substitution in your order. You will pay for exactly what you have chosen and nothing else.

3.

No Secrets

We grow our plants right here at Pleasant Prairie Nursery. Most of our plants have spent a high percentage of their growing time outdoors, not in a protected greenhouse. The native wildflowers, grasses, and trees you buy will be seasoned and hardy, ready for planting.

4.

No Neonicotinoid Use

Neonicotinoids are a class of insecticides that are particularly harmful to bees. We never use insecticides that contain neonicotinoids.

5.

No Cultivars

Our plants are strictly native plants, many grown from locally collected seed. We care about this, because songbirds, pollinating insects, and monarch butterflies know the difference!

6.

No Sticker Shock

All our products are economically priced, so you can get the most out of your project budget. Plant a 75 sq. ft. butterfly garden or prairie plot in your backyard for under $100.

7.

No Minimum Purchase

At Pleasant Prairie Nursery you can buy one plant or one hundred plants. No need to buy a 6-pack or flat of New England Aster if you only need two.

8.

No Shipping Cost

Shipping and handling costs for an order of plants can be prohibitive. Why not spend 100 percent of your budgeted native plant project money on plants?

9.

No Guessing

We can help you find solutions to your problem areas: steep hillsides, wet areas, clay soil, deer challenges, and more.

10.

No Worries

If you are new to thinking “native”, or still on the learning journey, we are happy to personally help you choose the right plants and design for your project. While we always recommend that you visit Pleasant Prairie Nursery on a plant sale date, we understand that those dates might not work for you. We are open by appointment Mid-May thru early September.
